Professional Fire Alarm Solutions for Schools, Colleges and Educational Establishments

Educational environments rely on dependable fire alarm systems to protect pupils, students, staff and visitors while supporting the safe operation of their premises. Whether you're responsible for a primary school, secondary school, college, university campus or specialist training centre, maintaining a reliable fire detection system is an essential part of your fire safety strategy.

At Liberty Systems, we provide professional fire alarm design, installation, commissioning, maintenance and fault-finding services for education providers across the East Midlands.

Our engineers understand the unique operational requirements of educational buildings and work carefully to minimise disruption while delivering reliable, compliant fire alarm solutions.

As a BAFE-registered fire detection and alarm systems contractor, we deliver dependable solutions backed by professional workmanship, relevant insurances and health and safety associations as well as comprehensive documentation and a commitment to compliance.

Supporting a Wide Range of Educational Premises

Our team are here to work with a wide variety of educational establishments, including schools, academies, colleges, universities, nurseries, independent training providers, performing arts schools and specialist education facilities.

Whether you're responsible for a single building or a large campus comprising multiple teaching blocks, offices and communal spaces, we tailor our fire alarm services to suit your premises, occupancy levels and day-to-day operations.

Fire Alarm Systems Designed Around Your Campus

Every educational building has different requirements. A small village primary school presents different challenges to a college campus with workshops, laboratories, sports facilities and student services.

We take the time to understand how your buildings are used before recommending a fire alarm solution appropriate for your premises. Whether you're constructing a new teaching facility, refurbishing an existing building or upgrading an ageing fire alarm system, our installations are designed and commissioned in accordance with the recommendations of BS 5839-1.

Where required, our team work alongside relevant parties to develop comprehensive Cause & Effect Strategies and system programming integrating fire alarm systems to automatically carry out actions such as unlocking doors, grounding lifts, closing fire shutters and curtains and isolating gas supplies, including connections to our gas interlock systems for kitchens and science labs, in order to meet your buildings fire strategy and facilitate the safe evacuation of occupants.

It is also becoming increasingly common for fire alarm systems to be used to initiate lockdown alarms, this can be achieved via distinctive alarm sounds (different from the fire alarm) visual indicators or voice alarms and can also be developed alongside your fire strategy.

Supporting Compliance Across Your Estate

Many colleges, universities and academy trusts are responsible for multiple buildings or sites, each with its own servicing schedules and compliance requirements.

Regular planned maintenance helps ensure fire alarm systems remain reliable while providing the documentation needed to demonstrate that systems are being properly managed.

Following every visit, we provide comprehensive service reports and certification, giving facilities managers confidence that their fire alarm systems are maintained in accordance with current standards and industry best practice.

Our secure customer portal provides authorised users with 24-hour access to service reports, certificates and maintenance records, making it easier to manage compliance across an entire estate and quickly retrieve documentation whenever it's required.

We understand that educational premises cannot simply pause their daily activities while maintenance work is carried out.

Where possible, we schedule servicing, testing and installation work around the school day, examination periods, term dates and other operational requirements. By working closely with site managers, estates teams and facilities managers, we aim to minimise disruption while maintaining the highest standards of safety and workmanship.
